Hydro-Québec has reported us that 16,400 of the 18,000 homes in Dollard-des-Ormeaux have already been successfully reconnected. However, the houses that have not yet been reconnected unfortunately require more complex repairs. According to Hydro-Québec, these interventions may take a few days.
We understand how difficult it can be to live without power, especially for such a prolonged period. We are in constant contact with Hydro-Quebec to ensure that they find solutions as quickly as possible.

Earlier Today, representatives from Hydro-Quebec met with city officials to discuss the power outage situation in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
We are pleased to announce that Hydro-Quebec has advised us that additional work teams have been deployed in our City, and significant improvements are expected in the coming hours. We understand that power outages can be challenging, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to get your homes back to normal as soon as possible.
We would also like to remind residents that if you receive a door hanger from Hydro-Quebec, it is important to carefully follow the instructions, you may require to intervene as homeowner. If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Hydro-Quebec at 1 888 385 7252. They will analyze your situation and provide you with further instructions.

NEED A TEMPORARY RESPITE?
- The Civic Center (12001 boul. de Salaberry) is open and will remain open all night and tomorrow for residents who wish to warm up, recharge their electronic devices, take a shower, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee. If you plan to stay overnight, please bring a blanket or sleeping bag.
- For those who require overnight sleeping services with a bed, we remind you that the Beaconsfield Recreation Center (1974 City Lane H9W 6B1), in collaboration with the Red Cross, is available for all West Island residents.
We thank all residents for their patience and understanding during this difficult time. We are aware that this situation is challenging for all those affected, and we will do everything in our power to assist those in need. We will continue to ensure that Hydro-Quebec works tirelessly to restore power as quickly as possible.

UPDATE APRIL 8
Freezing rain and power outage in Dollard-des-Ormeaux
We are aware that the current power outage affecting our community is causing discomfort and concern. Hydro-Québec is making every effort to quickly reconnect all customers who are still without power. Hydro has informed us that additional crews have been deployed to Dollard-des-Ormeaux and the West Island region and expect to have major advancements in Dollard-des-Ormeaux today.
While waiting for the electricity to be restored, we want to remind you that the Community Center at the Civic Center (12001 Salaberry boulevard) remains open day and night to provide some relief. At the Civic Center you can:
- take a shower at the Civic Centre’s aquatic center from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m,
- visit the Library until 9 p.m. this evening
- have a coffee,
- rest,
- stay overnight (bring a blanket or sleeping bag)
- recharge your cell phones.
Several food services are also open for those in need of food:
- Marché de l’Ouest,
- IGA,
- Centennial Plaza.
We understand the difficulties that this situation may cause, and we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure your comfort and safety. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this challenging time.
Finally, we would like to remind you that using propane-powered devices inside your home can pose a very high risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. We have received many reports from emergency services regarding poisonings in our area. Please be careful and stay safe!

UPDATE – APRIL 7
We are aware that most of our residents are experiencing difficult living situations due to the power outages. We are in constant communication with Hydro-Quebec who has informed us that they expected 80% of the residents living on the Island of Montreal to have their power to be restored by midnight.
In the meantime, we are providing shelter for residents who require warming and telephone recharging:
1-The Community centre in the Dollard-des-Ormeaux civic centre (12001 Salaberry Blvd.) will remain open all night for warming up, for charging of your electronic devices and for a cup of coffee. No beds will be available, but you can bring your own blanket.
2-For Overnight sleeping services, the Beaconsfield Recreation Centre (1974 City Lane H9W 6B1 Beaconsfield) in collaboration with the Red Cross is available for all West Island residents to charge their electronic equipment, get warm and stay overnight if needed.
The City continues to evaluate the situation in collaboration with Hydro-Québec. Stay tuned to our announcements for more information and stay safe.

Due to the freezing rainstorm of April 5, the majority of homes in the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux are left without power. All emergency agencies are working together to restore power as soon as possible. In the meantime, here is some useful information:
POINTS OF SERVICE
- Community centre in the civic centre of Dollard-des-Ormeaux: please note that it will be open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, only to warm up or charge your phones. However, there is no access to food at the Civic Center. This schedule may change as the situation develops.

- Galerie Des Sources
- Marché de l’Ouest
- IGA
- Fairview Pointe-Claire
These sites welcome anyone who needs to warm up, eat or charge their electronic devices.
SAFETY TIPS
- Do not bring your barbecue inside the house. This is a dangerous practice due to the carbon monoxide poisoning that the barbecue can cause. The same goes for any other propane gas appliance.
- Avoid nonessential travel.
- If you must take your car, be alert and stop at all non-functioning traffic lights.
- If there are electrical wires on the ground, stay away from them. Contact emergency services as soon as possible.
