Schools closed or delayed, federal offices allow late arrival as snow blankets DC area (2024)

The D.C. area's snowiest week in two years is ending with even more accumulation Friday. While this won't be a major winter storm, many school systems around the D.C. area are closed or have later start times.

Flakes began falling before dawn Friday, and several inches of snow could fall on parts of the region before it's all over.
